  • Look at you, internet stranger, being all mature and showing growth by changing your worldview! (That was sincere, by the way.)

My ability to stand up for injustices that don’t affect me comes in waves, and sometimes when it ebbs, I feel bad for not saying something when I could have (in my case, not making use of my white privilege when I could).

I think if Mr. Peanut butter had been concerned solely for the way the hate ended up being directed at Diane, it would be one thing, but the fact that he mainly focused on how it affected him made it icky.

  • I’m glad you liked the show!

    I’ll respond to 2 and 3:

    1. remember that Hollyhock is 18 or 19. While she’s mature for her age, she doesn’t need to be weighed down by BoJack. She was able to accept his flaws, but he made some mistakes that show that he may not be a safe person to be around. As far as what he did wrong that traumatized the guy at the party: he was a 50+ year old man taking some teenagers to prom, which is weird all on its own, but he also got them extremely drunk. When one girl got alcohol poisoning, he just dumped her at the hospital. He should have been the responsible adult in the situation, but he did the kinds of things a fellow teenager would have done (fellow to the characters).

    2. On paper, Ralph is the perfect choice for a boyfriend/husband. He’s smart, caring, attentive, and rich to boot! Judah is that steady person with whom PC just developed a relationship with over time. I read elsewhere that she’s always been married to her work, and in marrying someone from work, she can truly be married to her work (I wish I knew where I read this; that person did a much better job than I did.). The first time I watched the show, I didn’t understand their relationship, but the more I watch it, the more I get it. Unfortunately, I can’t explain it well beyond him being a steady companion who she can truly be herself around, and they can pursue their passions together.

  • I have a lot of personality traits similar to Princess Carolyn, and a friend who has some similarities to BoJack (mainly his relationships with people—not the worst of him). The episode with the food critic really got to me on the latest rewatch because their discussion of what they valued in each other was a discussion I wish I could have had with this friend who basically ghosted me. He and I haven’t had that conversation, but I pretended we did. Now, the final episode where PC shows that she’s able to basically let him go has been a bit of an inspiration to me for how to move forward as the ghosting continues.
