I feel you but not sure it’s that. If it’s drama they’re after, then why not word for word subtitle the Americans? They only do it for the foreigners with the poor English skills.

Yup exactly. Yet, they’ll subtitle word for word the English of the foreigner, even when it’s grammatically incorrect. But for the American, they’ll allow their shitty ass Spanish to look fluent in the subtitles, as alluded to.

What really irks the shit out of me is how 90 Day fiancé translates when Americans speak the foreign language versus when foreigners speak English.

When an American is speaking Spanish (my first language), they always translate the gist of it, even when someone says something stupid. But when a Spanish speaker says something stupid (due to English not being their primary language), 90 Day always translate it word for word.

They should do the same for either way. Either do the gist or translate word for word.
