That his mom first said she understood where Shakinah is coming from and admitted that pregnancy is hard but then turns around and says it’s her duty to give him children?? I figure this is a strong cultural belief where they’re from.
And yes, pregnancy is hard. People forget that it’s considered by the medical community to be a “serious medical condition,” by definition. But besides that, she has every right to say No to him.

This is my dilemma
Not to mention his age. I imagine it’s tough for anyone “of a certain age” to get decent work. I mean, we talk about ageism being illegal but, c’mon… companies will find “legitimate” reasons to choose a younger candidate.
Did she not know about the critters in the Philippines? That whole scene of her at the house, freaking out about spiders…I just kept thinking, Oh honey you’re in for a bad time
Hey, any publicity is good publicity😅
Even though Yara has ever right to decide whether or not she wants to have another kid, it is wrong of her to lie to Jovi about it. It doesn’t matter that Jovi is a whiney bitch.
Just want to clarify that she never lied about wanting a kid; just the opposite. He hounds her possibly daily about having another one even though every time she’s made it clear she doesn’t want one - at least not right now.
Perhaps taking BC without telling him is lying by omission, but he’d 100% hound her about that if he knew (“Why are you taking that?? Don’t you want another??”). And I really wouldn’t put it past him to tamper with her BC if he did know about it.
My hot take on her is that I actually appreciated and was amused by her sharing the part about pooping herself. I know I can relate. And I have friends who can, too. I thought it was funny and candid.
He gave me incel “nice guy” vibes right off the bat while other people (at first) thought he was an actual nice guy. I was like, Just wait, y’all…
In this economy?? I vote the latter
In a word: Desperation
When she said that she wasn’t in a spiritual place to have been “put on the spot” during the prayer… I have no words.
She’s such a selfish brat. I know the first day she wasn’t feeling well, but to never smile when her new family was trying to engage her. And her unwillingness to engage. Man, soldier through a little, at least. I woke up with a heinous migraine once and still went to work. I smiled at the customers and all even though I literally puked behind the teller line at one point (there weren’t any customers in the lobby at the time)1. My supervisor finally sent me home.
You know she also lived there for A YEAR prior to moving there, right? Just saying, I agree: she could have learned some basic shit by now as well have been an actual adult about it and asked questions ahead of time. She knew she was having an Indian wedding; she must have known there would be differences from an American wedding. Just goes to (further) show how entitled and bratty she is. You can tell her parents are tired of her shit. I truly believe her dad was OK with the idea of her moving so that she’d be someone else’s problem.
Agreed. The scene in the car where he’s yell-crying, “I just want you!” made me think there was something wrong with him, too. Not just what he’s saying, but how he’s saying it. Just gets my hackles up
