One thing I find interesting from a physiological standpoint is how Ashley acts to Manuel and then about him. When Ashley speaks to Manuel, she is the submissive. She says things like, oh now I see, you’re being a grumpy kitty, you don’t care how I feel? Then she turns with deep, unblinking eyes at PRODUCTION and says: my mf dog will stay on the bed, no one talks to me this way.

She has a misrepresentation of who she is to herself. She thinks she’s playing the dominant, but she’s playing the submissive. She’s getting her dominant out at production, appeasing herself like she’s telling this to Manuel, but she’s not. So she’s fooling herself.

She’s depressed and you hope the family laughs at her? This says more about your character than hers. You can dislike someone and not crave their demise.

This is spot on. While they are in the car driving to his parents’ house, he’s telling her he didn’t like how she was rubbing his chest. She then says I’m not that person for you, you can’t handle this. She wants all the decision making power and for him to bend to her for everything, but she won’t make any concessions. Her mental state is so unhealthy, she’s unfit for a healthy relationship right now.

If he can ghost his family, he’ll do the same to Ashley. He’s showing her who he is in plain sight. It’s all her fault at this point.

Agree with all. I think it’s easy to infer they both have money problems because they are choosing this extended temporary living life, but I don’t think that was ever actually said; mom has the financial problems. He doesn’t want to kick her out and it wasn’t a nuisance until he met this girl. He’s just doing his day to day, working and gaming, so there was no need to make changes and kick his mom to the curb.

I think Holly and her mom have a weird codependency thing happening. It could even be substance related. So yes I agree with your thought and I’m adding onto it.

I just rewatched ep 1 to refresh my memory.

1. They spent 7 years apart and he called her out of the blue in 2020.
2. He never wanted to move to the US then now decides it’s what’s best.
3. She never knew he had any family in the US, much less New York.

Yeah this is fishy to me. This feels very green card and Ashley is the victim of it.

She won’t lick the ice cream off your face? This is definitely a sign of future problems.

Here’s my expert opinion…don’t leave her. Just keep harassing, complaining, even threaten to leave in 48 hours (but definitely don’t leave) unless she gives into your physical needs. Maybe even hire a film crew and talk to the producers like they’re your friends and complain some more. Don’t find any self-respect, just keep whining about the current problem in your relationship and just believe it gets better after you get married.

Isn’t this more making fun of other cast members with overdone plastic surgery, like Jasmine, Shekinah, etc.? Mary was a scapegoat in the joke, but it has nothing to do with her appearance. That’s how I took it at least.

Same with Shekinah’s sister, only her purse/bag. Not walking from the airport to meet Sarper, not into the apartment complex and not after she got the hell out of dodge so she could avoid the hand-cooked meat.

100% agree. People are confusing their dislike of her personality with everything about her. This is equally her wedding day as it is TJs, but it’s 100% his culture. She agreed to it, but one can’t google this and get a straight answer. And this behavior in TJ is showing frequently, that he’s not fully explaining things to Kim. For example, it showed him saying I waited til Kim came here to tell her what is expected of a traditional Indian wife. His poor communication is getting Kim in a lot of trouble with the family and social media. I am not a big Kim fan, but I think she’s being railroaded and it’s not fair to her. We can’t ask questions we don’t know what to ask. TJ and his family should have considered Kim more on this day.
