  • I think TLC plays into it unfortunately. Like thinking of Usman and Lisa or Usman and Kim. It’s “funny” for the older, less attractive women pining after these young and vulnerable guys. It’s sad and gross. And I agree Nikki’s aggression and Igor’s obvious discomfort is really difficult to see. She clearly doesn’t respect his bodily autonomy, and just wants for him to uphold his end of the bargain within their “sugar baby/mama” dynamic, whether he wants to or not. So agreed, her behavior is very predatory and coercive

Sure, his lack of indoor plumbing is just an easy thing to come after because his personality fucking sucks.

He also refuses to acknowledge it as a disadvantage. Dempsey is able to admit that the toilet and lack of comforts will be difficult for Statler to adjust to, so much so, she doesnt know if Statler should move in with her at all. However, Rob pretends the outhouse is akin to any regular, living situation and that Sophie expressing any dissatisfaction about the bathroom is nothing more than a reflection of her privilege.

While Dempsey is just another person on reality TV that I don’t know; she presents to have self awareness and consideration of her partner. While Rob consistently displays self-centered behavior and doesn’t even seem to like Sophie as a person.

It’s less about the bathroom and more about him as a human being. Because talk of kids, for someone like him? Emotionally that is literally putting the cart before the horse. He’d be nothing but trauma to a child, he doesnt have a modicum of self awareness.

  • Outside of her dynamic with Gino, she seems very kind and even relatable. She’s beautiful, smart and seems like a girl’s girl.

But I’d lose my mind if my partner got in my face and called me ‘fucking idiot’, no matter the reason. So it’s hard for me to wholeheartedly root for her. I think the later seasons has shown her dichotomy and humanized her a bit more.

I mean yes, but I think being an influencer of her type produces crazy body dysmorphia. And many people in general are deluded about their appearance due to filters, face tune and photo shop; without it being tied to their income or a public image. It’s hard to blame her. Though, I agree it would be nice to see her embrace her natural looks

  • Just because there are people that “are worse” doesn’t make him good. He’s defensive, doesnt seem to care for Sophie as a person, only seems drawn to her appearance and projects his insecurities onto her. He cant even be bothered to reassure her when he brings up legitimate concerns (like gun violence).

He behaves as though he’s offering her so much because he’s in America, living in LA. But the reality of the States is the average person has to 10x harder to acquire amenities that are considered human rights in the UK, like healthcare. He’s serving shit on a silver platter. Plus he’s nearly 10 years older than her, not to shame age gap relationships, but in his case, his personality is crappy and it’s obvious why he’d want to date a person in their early 20s.
