She doesn’t want to work on your farm and she doesn’t want to get up early. If that’s your condition to live there, they need to know that. But geeez stop being so controlling and horrible. Maybe Brandon doesn’t want your stupid farm. Let him be his own adult!!!

Lol i’m literally watching this season for the first time right now!

I have somewhat mixed feelings on this. I do agree that farmwork is NOT for everyone, so if julia just straight up can’t handle it, then they shouldn’t be mad about that. However, since she is staying in their home & eating their food for free, she SHOULD be helping out around the house at a minimum, because that’s what well-mannered adults do. Brandon’s parents are definitely selfish assuming that julia would wake up at 6am to do farm work, but I also think that julia seems very spoiled and lazy.

Wanted to add, what i really couldn’t stand was them throwing a fit about them wanting to get married mother’s day weekend lmao. Who gives a shit ??? As a mom myself, I really can’t understand someone being that upset about someone else daring to have an event mother’s day weekend. Even if it was my damn birthday weekend, I wouldn’t care.

I would probably warn my kid that it might make it tougher to celebrate their anniversary just the two of them if they have kids, because the kids will want to spend Mother’s Day with their mom, but I wouldn’t be upset about them getting married on Mother’s Day or that weekend.

Obviously, but most people with jobs have to celebrate their anniversary on the closest weekend and that’s going to often conflict with spending Mother’s Day and be two dinners out on the same paycheck and possible gifts, etc. It’s harder to make your anniversary special if it’s close to Valentines or Christmas or Mother’s Day or one of your birthdays.

Helping around the house, sure. Working on the farm, nope. She’s from a big city

In fact, she shouldn’t be doing a lot of work on the farm before she gets her work permit. It might technically be a violation

I thought it was really weird that the thought of Brandon moving out made his mom cry. That can’t be a healthy relationship.

When my husband and I moved in together (while dating for a year almost 2) his mom cried lol. We were 19/20. We moved across the same exact town 15 mins away. Also when we got married (eloped) she cried and didn’t talk to us nor say she loved my husband anymore 🫠 that was after dating for 8 years. Some moms are just odd. Maybe they recently hated Julia like my husbands mom didn’t like me lolol

Honestly, it just seemed like a really bad match on some levels because it seemed like Brandon expected to inherit the farm at some point. He seemed content with that lifestyle. Even if Julia accepted it for a while, she’d eventually be unhappy.

His parents are just conservative. I thought they had some mixed messages though with wanting them to be on birth control but expecting them to sleep apart. They are both grown adults who live thousands of miles apart. Just let them have their time together so they aren’t always sneaking around screwing in your hot tub.

Haha so true. I just feel like they are so controlling. I am conservative so I get that but he’s 27, let him live his life. It did seem like he wanted the farm until she got there. I’ll take that farm if he doesn’t want it :)

His parents are weird as fuck, i got a totally weird incestrious vibe from them. They treat their son like a baby and the interfering with their sex life and birth control was not ok at all. Its none of their business. Crying over brandon moving out, yeh like he should have been gone 8 years ago already. Conservative or not, that family dynamic is weird asf. And i don’t blame julia for not wanting to do shit around the farm. None of that was part of the deal coming to live with them.

They were only allowed to use the hot tub naked, I don’t think there’s anything conservative about that. Weirdos…

Yeah I still don’t get that one… and you could even tell Brandon’s mom doesn’t even really know why how she was struggling to explain it with a twisted face.

        They’re so weird af.

A friend of a friend grew up with Brandon. Apparently the way TLC portrayed his parents wasn’t too far off from reality

My husband and I moved in together prior to marriage (25/27) to a different town and his ultra catholic Italian family almost disowned him. Now, 18 years later, all his cousins have done this plus moved out of state so i always tell them You’re Welcome!

This was one of the best seasons. My boyfriend and I still quote “nyet, nyet, nyet” like julia says to the animals on the farm. 🤣

At first, I thought this was like a long generational family farm. Just by how much they really want him to take over the farm someday… I’d understand about being a bit bummed…

    But nope!

Brandon’s parents seemed to randomly wake up one day and start this brand new family tradition. Like wtf are they on?

Their attitude is so insane. Why are they literally forcing Brandon to one day take over A WHOLE ASS farm! That’s very specific hard work.

And they’re like deeply heartbroken over how he doesn’t want to deal with their dream? Their dream. God forbid he has his own personality and hopes 🙄
