I came across Battle Beast’s FANDOM page and in trivia, some complete imbecile added “There was a small theory that the reason Omni-Man was seen watching Invincible and Guardians lose to Battle Beast was because Nolan was afraid of him”.

That makes me wonder, do people have shit for brains? If I write a character as a narrative tool to explore invulnerability or godhood in the hands of a regular guy, why do people keep coming up with these goddamn moronic hypotheses? Even when in the comics, Thokk is defeated by a Viltrumite. It threw me in a white hot seething boil.

Is this some sort of litmus test to find out if someone can tie their own shoes? Whether they compare the power level of a Superman archetype to various villains-of-the-weeks?

Nolan isn’t the strongest viltrumite, and there is an empire of them, Superman is one of the last of his race, and is arguably the strongest of the ones who remain.

I agree with you but in this scenario even if Nolan didn’t know it there’s a good chance he would lose. If he had a close fight with thrag and thrag easily beats omniman it’s a fair assumption

I read that scene in a different way. I think Nolan didn’t intervene because he wanted to see how mark fared against extra terrestrial threats, which are very different from something to be found on earth. Keep in mind he was still intending at that time for mark to be a part of his takeover of earth. That also goes along the lines of one of the things I love about invincible: the strongest beings in the universe aren’t necessarily even all from earth, whereas in marvel and dc, earth is narratively and sometimes literally the center of the universe.

There’s no chance Omni-Man was afraid of Battle Beast, and there’s no doubt that Battle Beast could have the potential Omni-Man. Omni-Man is not the most powerful being in the galaxy just like Superman isn’t the most powerful DC character. I get that some theories are dumb as hell, but let people be.

Don’t forget that a lot of Invincible fans haven’t read the comic book series, so they’re just making hypotheses based on what they’re seeing in the show.

Even though he can’t fly? Why can’t Nolan just remain elevated and continually drop massive objects on BB and launch an array of arial attacks without ever coming in striking distance?

Because Battle Beast can jump and those attacks would do nothing to him. Also, if Nolan can drop those massive objects, BB can throw them at like 30+ mph.

Does it make sense for Omniman to know who battle beast is? No, because later in the comics battle beast was >! Looking for a viltrumite to fight because he wanted to know if they were strong enough to kill him, vultrumites did not know about battle beast yet but battle beast knows about them, if vultrumites did know about battle beast it would almost certainly be on nolans list of things dangerous to vultrumites which brings me to my other point. would it make sense for omniman to be afraid of battle beast? Actually yes… He probably should be, while nolan is one of the more powerful vultrumites, battlebeast is shown to be able to kill lower level vultrumites about as easily as nolan can, considering battle beast got closer to killing Thraag than nolan could i would put battle beast as slightly stronger. If we logic this out it’d probably make more sense for nolan to win just because he can fly and fight at full strength anywhere so if he throws battle beast into space he’s useless until someone retrieves him, but in a fair grudge match Battle beast would probably win!< Tldr nolan should probably be afraid because they’re at similar power levels but in the comics vultrumites didn’t know who or how strong battle beast was at this point.
